Welcome to TDEC's Environmental Review Tool, which is maintained by the TDEC Division of Natural Areas in partnership with NatureServe. The Environmental Review Tool allows users to view conservation-oriented GIS layers in a web map and generate environmental reviews from user-submitted project boundaries.

If this is your first time visiting the Environmental Review Tool, you will need to create an account. Once you have an account that has been approved by an ERT administrator, you can log in and visit the Explore tab to see all GIS layers visible to registered users. Within the Explore map, you can define an area of interest by drawing or uploading the project boundaries, answer a few questions regarding the nature of the project, and submit the project for a Natural Heritage Review.

A report based on your submission will be generated and visible to you in the My Projects tab. You will be notified via email when this is ready - which should be within 10 minutes of submitting your request. If you encounter any errors or have any questions, please contact TDEC-DNA Natural Heritage Data Manager, Dillon Blankenship, dillon.blankenship@tn.gov.

PLEASE NOTE: While we plan to expand this application for broader use, it is currently only available to NRCS Staff who have been granted permission by NRCS site administrators or TDEC Division of Natural Areas.
